GRAMMYs Celebration 2019
After a memorable year in New York, the GRAMMY Awards returned to the Staples Center in Los Angeles in 2019. Bringing the GRAMMYs celebration back to it’s hometown of Los Angeles this year, we celebrated with a weekend-long experience for the third time, weaving in the cultural and musical fabric of the Recording Academy with Delta’s commitment to connecting people. The “Verdant Reflections” theme was applied to every guest interaction and event throughout the weekend. Building off of lush, metallic plant life in the venue, we glittered the space with plated gold gold records and saturated blue surfaces, drawing the eye upwards to the night sky above, nicely complementing the view of the LA skyline.
As the Official Airline Partner of the GRAMMY Awards and Supporter of First-Time Nominees, Delta kicked off the weekend’s celebrations with their flagship party at The Mondrian Hotel. The kick off event to celebrate Music’s Biggest Night, featured a performance by Ella Mai, a first time nominee that’s taken the music team by storm. As a nod to Delta’s support of the music industry, in addition to Ella Mai’s performance, the event was opened and closed by carefully selected DJ talent. The party was kicked off by Greg Corner, and was continued well into the night with renowned New York DJ and radio host, DJ Funk Flex.
As guests made their way into the space, they were immersed in a tunnel-like installation with 250+ hanging gold plated records enveloping them on all sides. The 180 degree photo booth follows suit with records wrapping around guest as they pose with the iconic oversized gramophone. Golden palm trees are glittered through the space and frame of the main stage, towering over the heads of guests. The LED arches of the main stage wall change color ways throughout the evening, and from song to song in Ella Mai’s performance.
